Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge with the Daywalt Directed Syfy Original Movie Leprechaun's Revenge

Drew Daywalt, founder of Daywalt Fear Factory and recent director of the MTV horror comedy series Death Valley, brings us Leprechaun's Revenge, an ode to the B-monster movies of the past and the latest entry in Syfy's original holiday movie series.

Feb. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Starring Billy Zane (The Roommate, Titanic, The Phantom) and William Devane (Revenge, 24), Leprechaun's Revenge begins just days before the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in the small town of Keening, MA. The granddaughter of the town drunk has inadvertently unleashed a decades old curse and only she and her reluctant family can save the town from the impending doom, in leprechaun form, that has been set free. The film, also starring Courtney Halverson, Azure Parsons and Kevin Mangold, will air on Syfy, March 17th at 9PM/8C.

Addressing his fans and those who are curious about the movie, Daywalt said, "We took a very meta approach to making this film. My team and I wanted to do a different kind of Syfy film - one that had tongue firmly planted in cheek, one that was self conscious and knew what it was - a fun, sometimes scary, sometimes funny, often quirky creature-feature; but never stupid; never insulting to the audience. You're smart fans and you deserve to be treated as such."

Ever since his childhood in one of Ohio’s most haunted houses, writer director Drew Daywalt has been writing escapist fantasy and horror. With a degree in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston, Daywalt set off to Hollywood where he spent years writing for Disney, DIC Entertainment and Universal and his animated series “The Wacky World of Tex Avery” garnered an Emmy nomination. With his first trip into live action, he landed studio screenwriting and film directing work with such Hollywood luminaries as Quentin Tarantino, Tony Scott and Jerry Bruckheimer. Turning his eye toward horror, Daywalt’s first online horror short, “Bedfellows” garnered almost 2 million hits within weeks of its launch. He quickly rose to the top of the horror cinema community as the world’s leading short horror film creator, taking awards at festivals worldwide for his short form horror content for online and mobile devices.
