For the first time drivers can have some say in police driving and road safety policy. Uk's 30 million drivers must make their votes count say Drivers' Union.
By: Driver' Union Keith Peat, founder and ex speed cop of the Drivers' Union points out that the car & driving licences are crucial to the welfare of all of UK's voters and are probably the most important facility in our lives. 'We must do more to represent ourselves as drivers and with the election of these commissioners, we can, for the first time, change things in favour of the driver who is currently treated as an enemy of the state.' Says Keith. 'There is not doubt that there is an ideological war going on against the driver and it has been getting steadily progressive.' He says. 'More and more offences are being created for drivers, more perfectly safe drivers are being prosecuted daily and over slowed at tremendous cost too.' Say the group. The group also point out that politicians are trying to pretend that cycling can be done by 30 million drivers and that it makes a viable alternative. 'It isn't for most people they say'. 'We must reverse the hampering and unnecessary prosecutions of drivers and this election of police commissioners is exactly for that. We know that communities want their police focusing on crime, burglary, robbery, mugging, criminal damage, disturbance, and violence more than drivers; so make sure that the new police commissioners are pro driver and anti crime' Says Keith Peat. The Group will be stepping up their campaign during the spring and summer. # # # The Drivers' Union (D.p.U.)
