The WellCare Community Foundation to Donate $50,000 to American Red Cross for Kentucky Relief

March 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Tampa, Florida (March 7, 2012) — WellCare Health Plans, Inc.  today announced that The WellCare Community Foundation is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross to help Kentucky communities affected by the devastating tornadoes that swept across the commonwealth on March 2.

“Our company and our associates are committed to doing whatever we can to help those who have been affected by this devastating event,” said Michael Minor, WellCare of Kentucky president. “This tragedy has not only affected our members, but also our own communities, neighbors and families, and we intend to help support those in need.”

WellCare of Kentucky is working with the commonwealth to ensure its members receive disaster assistance as well as uninterrupted access to health care services and supplies. Also, WellCare’s associates are organizing outreach events and will be volunteering their time to help victims in Lawrence, Morgan, Magoffin, Laurel and Kenton counties.
