Five Undersea Adventures with Sammy Starfish in New Children’s Book from Oregon Author.

March 24, 2012 - PRLog -- In Episode One Audrey saves a starfish from drying out on the beach.  An illustration shows her happily returning to her sand building as a voice behind her calls out, “For your kindness … you are granted three wishes.”  Audrey wants to know if Sammy knows a real mermaid.  He does and explains how it is possible for him to take her under the sea safely and without being missed while they are away.  

Audrey learns the magical little starfish only grants wishes to be used for undersea adventures, as rewards for good deeds.  The excitement of Audrey meeting a real mermaid in the first tale gives way to even more thrilling adventures in subsequent episodes.  Illustrations are scattered throughout showing Mermaid Arlie, Davey Jones, underwater scenes, and more, as friends join Audrey in the adventures.  Starfish Chronicles features a mermaid for the girls and pirates for the boys.

This is Allen Pollens’ first children’s book for young readers and follows the publication of two adult science fiction offerings.  “Starfish…” is being introduced at the same time as “Superhero,” a young adult and adult fantasy, and a travel book, “Al’s London and Dublin Holiday.”

Retired from careers in software/hardware design and high tech sales and marketing, Pollens has been telling stories his whole life.  The stories he wrote for his grandchildren are the basis for “Superhero – Chronicles of Blue Knight Adventures” and “Starfish Chronicles – Undersea Adventures with Sammy Starfish.”  His adult science fiction books, “Creator” and “Alternative Lives” are continuations of his storytelling … there are more to come.  “Al’s London and Dublin Holiday,” was developed from the daily journal he kept on a recent European vacation and includes his personally taken photographs.
