Final Friday Art Show and Gallery Walk

March 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Join us for the Final Friday Open House and Art Walk. The Pendleton houses over 200 working artists who open their studios to the public on the last Friday of the month. The adjacent Artisan Alley is also home to the Annex Galleries, Studios, 510 Gallery and the Marta Hewett Gallery.  All within easy walking distance of each other.
The event is open to the public, with valet parking available.

Pendleton Center Artists Group Show: The March/April Show at the 510 Gallery is titled "Things I See" featuring select works by Pendleton Artists.

Opening at Marta Hewett Gallery
Diaspora/Miasma, new glass sculpture be Eoin Breadon and paintings on wood panel by Kevin Veara.  Although working in very different materials, these two artists share a great love for highly stylized imagery.  Breadon draws on his Celtic heritage and continues in the tradition of the ancient "storyteller" by carefully engraving intricate Irish designs into his hot sculpted glass forms.  Kevin Veara works in equivalent detail, inspired by his lifetime interest in birding coupled with 20 years of acclaim creating elaborate tattoos.  See this exhibition online at http://www.martahewett.com.

The studio has been transformed by Lisa into a space of color and light and balanced through the art of Feng Shui and the Divine Feminine Creative Energy. Please come and share with us our Sacred Space.
We are offering 'Open To Receive' Workshops that create yoga for the soul. Our workshops combine movement, breathing and meditation, using
Sacred Symbols to create Mandalas. Our 'Open To Receive' Workshops are created to empower women through the Art of the Divine Feminine Mother. In many cultures, the Feminine Mother is the Architecture of Enlightenment.  .

Pendleton Center History: The building which currently houses artists of the Pendleton Art Center was erected in 1909 for the Krohn-Fecheimer Shoe Company, the company that later became U.S. Shoe. It was purchased in the mid-1900's by Shillito's Department Store to serve as a main warehouse facility. In September 1991, The Verdin Company, the world's oldest and largest bell and clock manufacturer, opened the building close to their world headquarters to promote and showcase local artisans. With eight floors of studios featuring original pine floors , eight foot arched windows and over 200 artists, PAC is the world's largest collection of artists under one roof.
