April 2, 2012 - PRLog -- (Baltimore MD) Baltimore Net Radio will be rolling out the first in the series of "The Story Behind The Song" on internet radio.  The Legendary Connie Francis along with former WBZ Boston disc jockey, Jack McDermott, will host this one-hour program. Together, Francis and McDermott will tell the story behind several songs recorded by the First Princess of Rock 'n Roll; songs, which Francis recorded, that went to the top of the charts, and others that Francis had turned down that ultimately became hits for her contemporaries.  Together these two will banter back and forth with wit and humor while sharing some great stories. "The Story Behind The Song" will stream worldwide from http://www.baltimorenetradio.com beginning at 3pm NYT on Thursday, April 5, 2012.

In 1958, Cashbox, Billboard and the Jukebox Operators of America named Francis as the #1Female Vocalist. She was named Top Female Vocalist by all the trades for six consecutive years – a record never surpassed. As well, England’s prestigious New Musical Express also named her the World’s #1 Female Vocalist. She earned two gold records for Who’s Sorry Now? and Stupid Cupid.

Today, Francis is widely involved in some very interesting and diverse projects.  Of greatest importance and passion is that of helping returning American Veterans of war.  Francis is the national spokeswoman for Mental Health America's S.T.A.R. Campaign (Stress, Trauma, Awareness and Recovery) an important national campaign to raise awareness of what veterans are facing every day of their lives.   Another long-awaited Francis autobiography "Among My Souvenirs" has just been completed and will be officially released July 2012.  More information about Connie Francis and her magnificent recording career can be found at http://www.conniefrancis.com.
