New Orleans native returns to her roots to perform Chinese Tea Ceremony in honor of Stress Awareness

April 2, 2012 - PRLog -- No one will forget that last few days of August 2005 and the impact it had on the lives of many around the world, and neither will New Orleans born and bred,  Sheena Foster.  After being relocated subsequent to Hurricane Katrina to Los Angeles, Austin, New Jersey and New York, like birds do in the winter, Sheena is headed south to reconnect with her roots after launching her NYC based specialty tea company CuriosiTeas NYC ™.

In honor of National Stress Awareness month, Sheena will be going on a Southern States tour making stops in South Carolina, Georgia and culminating in her home state of Louisiana where she will be performing the Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony in her hometown of New Orleans on Saturday, April 7th from 10am - 11am and 12 noon - 1pm at Swan River Yoga Mid-City Mandir located at 2940 Canal Blvd at N. Dressed if full garb - the Chinese Qipao dress, with southern Chinese music playing in the background that adds to the ultimate tranquil and serene environment, Sheena Foster, will take you on an amazing journey where you will not only learn about the health benefits of teas and it origin, but you'll learn a bit about fair trade consumerism and taste some of her custom hand blends with the event culminating in the Chinese Tea Ceremony.

After an experience in Delhi, India, where Sheena spent several weeks building homes with Habitat for Humanity international and building camaraderie over tea with local villagers in one of the most impoverished villages where she also taught English, she returned to the states and subsequently launched her own specialty tea company.

Sheena’s passion and commitment to serve others led her to a career in the labor movement where she spent six and a half years enforcing and negotiating union contracts as well as working on humanitarian and labor research projects in the U.S, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. After leaving her union job on Wall St., Sheena decided to combine her passion and love for people, sustainable development and uniting cultures - through tea.
