April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Cycle Source Magazine and Bikernet.com select Texas Bike Works to build the frame for the Bikernet/Cycle Source 15th Anniversary Giveaway Chopper, sponsored by XPress Lid and Spectro Oil, which will be given away in the fall at Las Vegas Bikefest. The winner will be able to ride the chopper home from the event.

The heart of the build begins with the Texas Bike Works frame, which is constructed of 1.750 DOM .188 wall backbone tubing with the double down tubes made of 1.250 DOM .120 wall tubing. The remainder of the frame is constructed of 1.250x.120.  This steel is strong and provides enough flex to deliver a comfortable ride. The frame is TIG welded in a laser-aligned frame jig and made of USA steel.

“We are building a superior frame that is the core building-block for an outstanding chopper which any rider would love to throw a leg over and hit the road with,” said Jason Ferguson of Texas Bike Works.

Texas Bike Works (http://texasbikeworks.com/) is located in Granbury, Texas. Jason has worked in the industry for years and has been on the build team on bikes built for  guys like Billy F Gibbons (ZZ Top), Terry "Hulk" Hogan, Paul Tracey (Auto Racer), Brian Downing (Angels), Chuck Finley(Angels), Bo Jackson (Raiders/Royals) and Kevin Greene (Rams/Steelers/Panthers). Jason is an expert welder, machinist, fabricator and custom fitter with the chops to build anything.

Chris Callen, Editor of Cycle Source Magazine, stated: “We are excited to be working with Jason, as he provides the quintessential chopper frame design.”

“We are running additional editorials and videos on American builders and manufacturers participating in the XPress Lid Chopper giveaway at Bikernet.com,” said Keith Ball, Editor of Bikernet.com. “You don’t want to miss meeting some of America’s producers of innovation and design.”

Details of the build, interviews and updates are located in the print version of cyclesource.com, http://www.bikernet.com and http://www.winthechopper.com.
