eSchool News, JDL Horizons deliver live streaming for the third annual Iowa One-to-One Institute

April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Bethesda, Md. – eSchool News, a publication network of eSchool Media Inc., in partnership with EduVision by JDL Horizons, will be streaming live video coverage of key presentations at the 2012 Iowa One-to-One Institute (i11i) conference.

Viewers can watch sixteen of the highest demand presentations starting live online at http://www.eschoolnews.com/video/ beginning at 9:00 a.m. CDT (10:00 a.m. EDT; 7:00 a.m. PDT) on Wednesday, April 11th.

As in previous years, i11i has closed registration with over 1,100 participants. Four concurrent live streams will allow viewers to change channels to watch the presentation that best serves their needs and will be available for free to all viewers.  The conference includes educators from more than 150 different schools and six universities.  

For those unable to watch the coverage live, the archived video of the 1:1 Institute, including on-site interviews with the 2012 presenters, will be available at http://www.eschoolnews.com/video/ shortly after the ceremony concludes at 3:45 p.m. CDT (4:45 p.m. EDT; 1:45 a.m. PDT).

In the lineup, viewers can select the stream featuring Shannon McClintock Miller, Librarian at Van Meter School System, who has used social media to connect her students to authentic learning experiences that foster collaboration, communication and the skills that they will need as digital citizens in our emerging global society.  On another stream, education technology leader and consultant Angela Maiers presents using a Round Robin crowd sourced presentation of the latest Web 2.0 tools and resources.

“Viewers unable to attend the conference will now be able to flip through four channels to view the highest demand presenters across the state of Iowa and the rest of the world;” shared Nick Sauers, event coordinator.  “This program is made possible by the dedicated educators who present their best practices and we are proud to make their hard work and success in improving student achievement available to all educators.” Student production teams, managed by JDL Horizons staff, will man the cameras, video switches and run the production.

All four concurrent Internet video feeds are made possible in cooperation with the One-to-One Institute and in partnership with eSN-TV’s video provider, EduVision by JDL Horizons (http://www.eduvision.tv).
