2012 Conejo Valley Days Features Rock Guitarist Mike Pinera, "Electric Valley Nights" Dance Venue

April 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Thousand Oaks, Calif.--The bands are set for the 2012 Conejo Valley Days, May 3 through 6 at Conejo Creek Park, South (23 Freeway/Janss Rd. exit) in Thousand Oaks. The lineup provides something for everyone: folk, country, classic rock and electric dance music.

   The Janks, headed by brothers Zack and Dylan Zmed, will perform Friday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. on the Open Borders Stage, bringing a mix of acoustical, folk and rock. Bella Donna takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. The band is a tribute to Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac and has a large following throughout California.

   Headlining Saturday, May 5 at 8:00 p.m. on the Open Borders Stage is Mike Pinera, lead guitarist, singer and producer for legendary bands such as Blues Image, Alice Cooper Band and Iron Butterfly. Pinera will be performing hits including "Ride Captain Ride," "Pay My Dues, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," "Butterfly Blue" and "Schools Out."

   On Sunday, May 6, the Lovejoys perform its mix of R&B, Motown classic rock standards beginning at noon on the Open Borders Stage. The band will be joined throughout the afternoon by the Thousand Oaks All Stars.

   Musicians on a Mission, a group dedicated to providing mentorships, musical instruments and other music-related resources to Conejo Valley youth, will be playing its blend of acoustic and country music during all four days of CVD.

   On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, teens can head over to the Center Stage (in the CVD carnival area) beginning at 7:00 p.m. to dance to music during CVD's "Electric Valley Nights." Local DJs including Justin Brown Johnson will host the shows that begin every two hours.

   "Conejo Valley Days has always featured great local talent," says Frank Akrey, Conejo Valley Days president. "We're fortunate that so many musicians live in our community. Come to CVD to sample the sounds."

   All live entertainment is included in the CVD admission price ($8/ages 13 to adult, $5/ages 6 to 12, free/kids ages 5 and under).   CVD hours are: Thursday, May 3, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 5:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, May 5, noon to midnight and Sunday, May 6 , noon to 6:00 p.m.   

   The premiere sponsor for this year's Conejo Valley Days is Regenerate Films, a 501C3 charitable organization. Its Open Borders performances benefit multiple non-profit organizations dedicated to teen suicide prevention, sustainability and other social issues.  Regenerate information and membership forms will be available at a CVD booth.
