Time, discomfort and cost are reduced.  Removing  the tooth  is usually  the most traumatic part of the procedure.  Once the tooth is out,  placement of the implant is fast and simple when done by a trained practitioner.  “My Grandmother was 91 when I removed 7 of her teeth an inserted 7 implants the same day” says Dr.Scharf.  “Now 8 years later at age 99 she has the comfort and chewing ability that only fixed teeth can bring while her friends in the nursing home struggle with loose, uncomfortable  dentures."

Most people missing teeth are candidates for dental implants.  Modern techniques like cone beam scanners and 3-D planning software take all the guesswork out of implant placement.  Many people are concerned if advanced age disqualifies them from having implants.  "If they are healthy enough to have a tooth removed they are healthy enough to have a dental implant" says Dr. Scharf.
