Follow on Google News | ![]() BTIG’s 10th Annual Commissions For Charity Day Raises Over $4.5 MillionBTIG today announced that it raised more than $4.5 million at its 10th annual Commissions for Charity Day, held on April 18th. BTIG’s Commission for Charity Day draws in athletes and celebrities and raises money for over 170 children’s charities.
Once again, The Max Cure Foundation for pediatric cancer causes was selected and participated in this historic and memorable day where giving back is the purpose. Chris Wragge, Correspondent for CBS News, was there to show his support for Max Cure. “It is sad how underfunded pediatric cancer is but amazing to see the hard work of an incredible organization,” Max Cure Foundation, Inc. (MCF), a 501(c)(3) public charity, is dedicated to advancing cures for pediatric cancers, funding the development of less toxic treatments for children with the disease and assisting low-income families battling cancer in their children. MCF strives to raise both awareness of the cause as well as money for innovative research and programs that they have created. The "Roar Beyond Barriers" program is a family navigation system that provides low-income families certain necessities of life as they, with their children, fight to overcome cancer and the “Dunk Your Kicks” program, which provides a meaningful fundraising opportunity while teaching kids the concept of philanthropy. Additionally, MCF has collaborated with the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) to issue a $100,000/year grant ($300,000 over three years – 2011, 2012 and 2013) to a scientist or scientists attempting to find cures for forms of pediatric cancers or to discover less toxic treatments for children with cancer. The primary goal of the foundation is to underwrite a cell therapy lab at MSKCC dedicated to alternative treatments and innovative research. Since the inception, the foundation has raised nearly 1.8 million dollars. www.maxcure.org BTIG LLC is a premier institutional brokerage and fund services company.
