April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- A patriotic brother and his free-spirited sister have entirely different views of the Vietnam War in the new book, The Call: A Novel Set in the 1960s and 1970s during the Time of the Vietnam War.

Tom joins the Army to serve his country, while his liberated younger sister, Janet, is active in the anti-Vietnam War movement. She uses her position as a journalist on a national newspaper to advance her cause. The story is told by their neighbour, Jim, who is drafted and serves alongside Tom in Vietnam. Back home, Janet learns through Jim of the tragic shooting of a Vietnamese boy by one of Tom’s men. She publishes the story that condemns the war, but there are unforeseen consequences.

This powerful novel follows the growing intensity of the controversial war and its destruction of innocence. Fighting in a war tests relationships, but it can also build character.  Once you read The Call, you will never forget it.
