Y-Combinator-backed WePay Shares "How to Get Hired by a Startup"

April 26, 2012 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA, 4/26/2012 – Have you ever wondered how to get hired by a startup? Entrepreneurial Enterprises blogger Blaine Light interviewed Steve Guerguy, lead sales recruiter for WePay, and Marcus Ratzlaff, an intern-turned-employee for WePay, to learn their advice for landing a job with a startup.

Steve recommends you do a ton of research. He says, "Know who started the company and why, recent press articles about the company, new products that have been released, how these products contribute to the company’s strategy, and the 'right questions' to ask (from your research)."

As an intern, Marcus describes the determination and selflessness required to succeed. "There’s nothing a fast moving start-up company hates more than people that come in with big egos. The fact is that in the real world, no one cares where you went to school, what your GPA was, or what you have done in the past. All that matters is what you are going to do today to add value to the company and what you are planning on doing tomorrow (to help the start-up grow)."
