May 5, 2012 - PRLog -- The dive guides at Dragon Divers in Protaras have carried out more than 1000 dives in and around this fantastic wreck.  Although to see both the Bow and Stern areas of this vessel you will need a minimum of two dives, the guides specialise in more demanding routes.  The two introduction dives on the Zenobia are very different with the first dive to 30m showing you the huge propellors, the loading ramps and various trucks that were loaded onto the open cargo bay and now lay on their sides on top of each other.  From the depth of 30m you can clearly see the trucks lying on the sea bed at 40m with their cargo in plain view whilst you fin forward to ward the entrance of the upper cargo bay.  The upper cargo point is where the guide will take you up to a depth of 22m and head rearwards under the massive funnel towards the shot line.  Throughout this dive you will see the vast marine life that now call the Zenobia their home.  The marine life includes; Groupers, Rainbow Wrasse, Saddled Bream, Barracuda, Trigger Fish and Moray Eels to name a few.  The second intro dive guides you into the wreck itself visiting the restaurant area, where drinks dispensers are still visible on the servary and you can still make out the pattern of the tartan carpet.  On leaving the retaurant via the front door you will see the first of two huge anchors that is still tied to the outside forward deck.  You will then venture over the gunwhales where you will see the entrance to the chain locker before having a photo opportunity in front of the second anchor which is still in its transport position on the outer starboard side.  Its the Bridge next where you will enter through the large windows, that the Captain would stare out of to steer the ship, over the centre console and out through the small windows at the rear of the bridge.  Another photo opportunity on the cargo crane before heading towards the life boats.  Again there is opportunity to interact with the vast amount of saddle bream and grouper as we head forward towards the shot line before ascending to the trapeze where we can vent off excess nitrogen whilst admiring the family of trigger fish around the floatation aids for the trapeze.
The Zenobia experience doesnt have to end here! The guide at dragon Divers can take you to numerous areas of the wreck (depending on skills and experience).  Areas that can be investigated are, the upper cargo bay - A wide open but dark area where you can just make out the twilight of the exit whilst hovvering over the trucks that lay on the bottom of the cargo bay.  The accommodation area - Due to windows along the side (top) of the wreck, this is a weel lit area where you can dive the length of the accommodation.  Most of the cabin walls have deteriorated so much that they have fallen down buut the ablutions (toilets and showers) are still in place makiing this an "up and down" route along the inside of the wreck.  The middle cargo bay - once inside the middle cargo bay the light from the entrance/exit quickly vanishes leaving you to navigate this area under torch light.  Dive aft to see a fork lift truck lying on its side on the central support or dive forward to see the Captains car - A light blue Lada amongst the giant looking HGV vehicles.  There are many many more areas to see like the crew accommodation, washing machines, lift shaft, chain locker to name a few.  You could spend a whole week on this wreck with our guides and you will see something new on every dive, including a chance to see the wreck at night.  A very eerie dive not for the faint hearted or inexperienced.
