Red-flower reception to Hillary Clinton at Bashundhara

May 7, 2012 - PRLog -- It was a bright and sunny day yesterday. Bashundhara residential area was adorned with blazing red krishnachura flowers to receive the most distinguished guest who ever set foot on this sprawling enclave. We are agog and overwhelmed. After all, it is not every day a world leader of Hillary Clinton’s stature comes to us to spend time in a befitting programme.

She in fact was here at a programme of the youth leaders of Bangladesh, organised by the US Embassy in Dhaka. The International School Dhaka (ISD) at Bashundhara was selected as the ideal venue for such an all-important programme. The school is located next to Apollo Hospitals, another iconic structure in this area. A select group of students from various schools, colleges and universities, and some youth- movement organisations took part in the programme.

Young leaders of the future freely exchanged ideas and information with Hillary Clinton who is known and admired as a friend of the people of Bangladesh. This is not her first visit to this country but surely first as the US Secretary of State. It must have been an awe-inspiring experience for the young people to interact so intimately with her.

We are sure the authorities and the students of ISD were overjoyed by the fact that they could host a personality like Hillary Clinton. This august visit would be a topic of discussion for a long time to come.
