AbleNet Experiences Tremendous Growth in SoundingBoard AAC App Downloads

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – May 10, 2012 – AbleNet announced today that the worldwide community of SoundingBoard app users has grown almost 1,000 percent over the past week. Additionally, SoundingBoard became the No. 3 Free iPhone App in the Education category on iTunes for a short time.  Last week AbleNet announced that it would be giving away its nearly $50 SoundingBoard app for free on iTunes for a limited time to help schools and families better use popular Apple iDevices for individuals with disabilities.  Introduced in 2010, SoundingBoard was one of the first communication apps in the marketplace to offer switch scanning.  SoundingBoard utilizes AbleNet’s easy-tech approach to transform the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch into a powerful communication tool for children and adults who have difficulty speaking.  SoundingBoard allows a user to easily create custom communication boards with up to 9 message locations and is switch accessible when used with the Blue2TM Bluetooth® switch.
