Atlanta-area Manufacturer, SIGVARIS, Supports United Way of Metro-Atlanta’s 2012 Shoebox Project

May 10, 2012 - PRLog -- PEACHTREE CITY, GA – SIGVARIS employees recently donated thousands of personal care items and used them to fill 80 beautifully decorated shoeboxes in an effort to support the United Way of Metro-Atlanta’s annual Shoebox Project.   The shoeboxes will be delivered to women and children in homeless shelters throughout the 13-county metro-area region on Mother’s Day 2012.      “Our sales representatives are constantly on the road and were happy to collect shampoo and other personal care items from their travels,” says Elaine May, director of customer care at SIGVARIS. “In addition, employees generously brought items to help provide much-needed toiletries and small activities to women and children living in local homeless shelters.”      SIGVARIS’ boxes included shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, facial tissues, first aid kits, coloring books, small games, crayons, hand lotions and other personal care items.      “As a company, it’s nice for us to take time to give to others that are in need,” May adds. “We hope the shoeboxes collected for the United Way in conjunction with this project will not only help create a brighter Mother’s Day for many individuals, but also, provide some much needed supplies for women and children.”        This year, the combined efforts of organizations, like SIGVARIS, have allowed the United Way to beat last year’s total of 18,000 shoebox donations. “We are amazed once again at the strong community support for this year’s Shoebox Project,” says David Graves, director of media and marketing services for the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.      To learn more about SIGVARIS, visit www.sigvarisus.com.
