Sarasota Real Estate Agent and Pastor Using Home Sale Commissions to Feeding Starving Kids Charity

May 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Sarasota real estate agent Daniel Hilts and his wife Julie are two inspired business people who along with their team of agents help fund missionary work in some of the worst poverty stricken locations in the world. With money coming from commissions on sales the team is able to send money down to help grow their child feeding, education and medical programs in Mutulu and Kimbera Africa. The charity program runs on donations and contributions from locals and friends along with word of mouth referrals from some of the members who travel down to assist in proving aid, support and medical assistance.

 

"Not only do we feed approx 2000 kids per day, we have about 200 we are putting though school. We also start mothers (who have lost their husbands to AIDS etc.) in their own jobs of sewing, growing food to sell etc. Then some of our kids have gone on to college. so it keeps us busy", said Hilts who splits his time between selling real estate and doing ministry work.

 

The "Life for Children International" Group has a variety of programs designed to help feed hungry kids along with education. There is a "goats for kids" program where third graders are given baby goats. The children learn responsibility while the goat herd increases in number. Goats are very valuable to help feed and care for a family. This program is very successful in changing the lives of the children and their families. Families and individuals can also sponsor a child for only $20 a month and watch them grow up with the security of knowing someone cares enough to feed them.

We have rejoiced as some of "our children" completed high school and went on to college or trade schools. We have prayed as others struggled to learn in a harsh environment. And we have cried as we grieved over the death of our little Emily who lost her life simply by stepping on a rusty nail.


We are proud and humbled to be able to play a part in the support of children and families in an impoverished township and thank God for the blessings He has given us. We do this in rememberance of the sacrifice made for all of us upon the cross.
