Gallatin Tennessee Sees Real Estate Market Growth despite the Current Economy

Tennessee is one of only three remaining states that does not have a state income tax levied against its citizens and this is perceived to be a big factor for local citizens and the local businesses alike. While they do have a larger sales tax than most states, the feeling is that all inhabitants as well as tourists share in the expense of goods and services.

Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, President Kendra Cooke, has confirmed that home sales including the Gallatin and Hendersonville areas, have increased some 25% both in the month of April over last year and over the past year itself. 

What a great bit of news that we can all feel more certain about in seeing real evidence of a financial recovery. If homes are selling people are actively participating in local commerce which is what is needed to truly stimulate our local economy.

The state capital of Tennessee is Nashville, and is only about a half hour trip from Gallatin. The area known as Middle Tennessee is well known for the beautiful, thriving, and growing community that is home to several celebrities which helps to say a lot about our growth potential.

Gallatin hosts several industries that support the car manufacturers for parts and is also home to a division of the largest U.S. printer, R.R. Donnelley & Sons.

Gallatin Tennessee has a sister city that shares its western border with Hendersonville Tennessee and that city has virtually re-invented itself in the past few years.

Thanks to a spur off of I-65, Hendersonville has added numerous commercial retailers that were greeted with open arms and have greatly subsides the economy growth from a retail base. Some of the well known retailers are Target, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Kohl’s, World Market, Victoria Secrets, Barnes and Noble, and many cultural dining restaurants.

The shared border of Gallatin and Hendersonville have given the countryside between them an excellent real estate market growth that compliments both cities. 

The two towns also have  the Cumberland River and Old Hickory Lake as their southern border which adds great fishing and boating fun as a year round attraction. Gallatin has a Tennessee State Park, Bledsoe State Park, on its eastern border that offers camping, hiking trails, boat ramp, and local picnics for the families.

When you can a diversified and diligent community determined to continue growing despite other areas of the country that are suffering economic woes, it says a lot about the people of Tennessee.
