Is Zoom Teeth Whitening right for you?

May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- So you want whiter teeth?  But is zoom whitening right for you?  At Smile Arts of NY patients daily ask, top New York Dentist Dr. Peter Mann, “how white will my teeth get?”  While there’s no way to predict exactly how many shades lighter you will get, we can usually guess whether you’ll get dramatic results.  Dr. Peter Mann and is experienced staff perform hundreds of zoom whitening procedures monthly. www.SmileArtsNY.com  The zoom process uses 25% Hydrogen peroxide to open the pores in enamel and exfoliate stains from the tooth.  This leaves your teeth stain free, the way they were before coffee, juice, soda, fruits and berries stained them.  In our practice we typically see three types of patients.

1.   The heavy coffee drinker or tea drinker or smoker who stained their teeth to a yellow color over many years.  These patients will get spectacular results.  They can easily achieve 12 shades whiter results in just 45 minutes.  

2.   A person who has a standard diet.  Not big on coffee, not a smoker.  They can expect good results ~6 shades lighter.

3.   The third client may have already tried some take home whitening trays. Maybe crest white strips.  Sometimes they’ve done zoom once or twice before.  Their teeth are already white and relatively stain free.   The results here are not very dramatic.  There’s no way to actually paint teeth white, once the stain is removed teeth cannot get much whiter.
