By: independent.academia.edu/LinaSinha/blog Lina Sinha has recently volunteered at Methodist Hospital in Park Slope Brooklyn as well as St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital Emergency Room in Manhattan. She spent her time, talent and treasures bringing a smile to the face of those who are sick and rarely have it in them to smile. Lina Sinha is also a member of PETA, the largest animal rights organization in the world, with over 3 million members and supporters. The organization focuses on four areas where animal cruelty is high: factory farms, clothing trade, laboratories and in the entertainment industry. Through her work with PETA, Lina Sinha can work to put an end to animal cruelty. Lina Sinha works with ASPCA, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to help save animals from abuse and cruelty. “Volunteering is something I’m very passionate about,” said Lina Sinha, New York City school-teacher. “My parents instilled in me at a very young age that helping people and animals who are less fortunate than myself is the least I can do. Now I love to spend my time and talent helping others and working to make their lives better. Lina Sinha donated to the Wildlife Conservation Society in 2011 for the penguin exhibit in the New York Aquarium, and in 2012 for Lions exhibit at the Bronx Zoo. She also taught dancing at the “School of Indiana Languages, Music and Dance” for awhile. About Lina Sinha: Lina Sinha earned her undergraduate degree from Columbia College. She then went on to earn an MA and MEd from Columbia University before launching into her career as a teacher. She also received an advanced certificate from New York University. Outside of teaching, Lina Sinha frequently volunteers in her New York City Community. She is also an active runner, tennis player, skier and outdoor enthusiast.
