| ![]() Announcing the Harpeth Springaroo Music LineupEnjoy a Music Benefit Along the Harpeth River in Support of Local Cancer Relief - Net proceeds to assist five people with mounting medical expenses caused by late stage cancer
In addition to folk, bluegrass, rock, Latin, country and blues there will be burgers, hot dogs, ribs and bar-b-que. Activities include horseshoes, fly fishing lessons by Adventure Fishing, a local business owned by Roger Hamiter, a wine and cheese tent courtesy of the Republican Party of Cheatham County, beer garden, inflatable slide, and a silent auction with many beautiful pieces of art, gift certificates, bird houses, salon gifts and more. Musicians will perform on two flat-bed trailers situated along the Harpeth river. The P.A. system is sponsored by Clair Audio (Nashville, TN). All proceeds will benefit equally five people in the community that are bravely battling cancer and experiencing mounting medical bills. MUSIC LINEUP: The first performance will be an acoustic set from John Stone. Stone is recognized for his hard driving and soulful country rock music and is currently scheduled to tour in 2012 as the opening act for Kid Rock. Following will be the Spontaneous Mountain Boys with virtuoso fiddler Deanie Richardson performing with : E.G. Smith ,Alan O'Bryant, Gene Bush, Casey Cambell and Joey Boone. George Adams follows with a mix of country, indie, and rock selections. The ever popular Los Lazy Boys, one of the more popular bands of The Fillin’ Station in historic downtown Kingston Springs, and all very talented musicians playing rock favorites and blues will perform midday featuring: Eric Struthers, Ariel DeSilvis, Ray DeSilvis, Patrick Weickenand, David Boisvert, & Terry Browne. Runaway Home performs both originals and old time favorites from the 60s and 70s - John Denver, Jim Croce, Chapin and Crosby, Stills & Nash along with some great country favorites. Runaway Home is composed of Mark Elliott, Gary Culley, Lisa McCarter, Chip Chipoletti and Lisa Horngren. The afternoon acts include Roam County Radio, a trio of talented musicians that include Melinda and Adam Stenberg and David Liggett playing folk and Americana music showcasing multiple instruments. The Amy Hart Band features seasoned performers performing both old rock favorites performed and new original music followed by Savannah Conley, one of the more talented new performers in Kingston Springs celebrating the debut of her first EP. Talented in both range and depth, Savannah often performs at the Red Tree Coffee and has a growing fan base. The finale for the evening will be RevolFusion, an energetic blend of traditional music from Brazil (Samba/Samba de Roda) Central America (Punta), Caribbean rhythems and the lively colors and sounds of Modern/Pop Music (Rap, Regueton, Rock). This large band features Billy Ramierez on congas, Mario Velona on bass, Noel Torres on bongos and bgv, Jhenson Molina on drums, Eddie Charles - percussion, Giovanni Quinonez - lead guitar, and more. The gate opens at 9:00 a.m. The cost is $10.00. Children 12 and under are free. The Springaroo admission price does not cover the cost of food or beverages, however all food and activities will be reasonably priced. Donations also will be accepted the day of the event for all alcoholic beverages – beer and wine. Organizer, Leslie Allen says, “I know that there are many graduation parties and activities planned on the 19th. We hope that everyone will carve out a little bit of time on this day to support the Springaroo. This is not an annual event, but a one-time opportunity to come out in support of people that are daily battling cancer with courage. We want this to be a day of blessings for everyone - musicians, performers, volunteers, sponsors and for everyone this benefits including their family and friends.
