By: Water Star Inc. Minneapolis, May 21, 2012 - Water Star Inc., a developing technological company in Newbury, OH and subsidiary of Tennant Company , is proud to announce the U.S. Patent & Trademark office (USPTO) published another non-provisional patent. Specializing in mixed metal oxide (MMO) formulas, Water Star has developed a multi-layer MMO electrode, marketed as Suppress. The electrodes are coated with custom mixtures of one or more platinum (e.g., iridium, ruthenium, platinum) or valve (e.g., tantalum, titanium) metal oxides. A custom composition combined with manufacturing the electrode with different specifications can control electrochemical activity, allowing electrodes to withstand various electro-oxidation processes (e.g., electroplating, metal recovery, water electrolysis, water treatment, hydrogen peroxide and ozone). “With a cumulative of 35 years’ experience in the electrochemical industry, we are confident this invention will provide significant benefits to our clients,” said Marilyn Niksa, Founder of Water Star Inc. “This innovative design: contributes to chlorine and oxygen evolution, reduces energy required to drive electrochemical reactions, and lowers electrode potential and overall cell voltage.” To learn more about Water Star’s multi-layer mixed metal oxide electrodes, visit www.waterstarinc.com, or read the full description of the new patent at the US Patent & Trademark Office, www.uspto.gov by searching patent number 20120085571.
