May 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Known as a favorite San Diego Seafood restaurant in San Diego’s Gaslamp District, Escape Fish Bar goes one step further and announces a $12 lunch special menu. They’re offering a menu filled with the same fish tacones they are noted for. Whether your taste is for Swordfish, Salmon, Halibut or Pollock, they offer them all. They even offer the standard fish and chips and a hamburger for non-fish eaters.

With just over a year in business Escape Fish Bar has taken the San Diego Seafood Restaurant business by storm. If you search Yelp, Urbanspoon, Tripadvisor, Google and others you’ll find that they have a 5 star rating by most visitors. They’ve built their reputation by providing quality fresh fish, cooked with a blend of influences from Central America, Asian and Pacific Northwest cuisines.

The owner, Scott Quan, is a local attorney who owns 3 yogurt stores in addition to practicing law. He has always liked to cook and became enthralled while visiting Victoria British Columbia where he discovered a small eatery named Red Fish Blue Fish. They operate out of a converted shipping container and have people lined up in droves to order their meal which consists of the fresh catch of the day.

Scott decided he was going to convert one of his yogurt stores into a San Diego Seafood Restaurant and provide the same high quality food that he had found at Red Fish Blue Fish. At that point the idea of the Escape Fish Bar was born at 738 Fifth Ave., in San Diego’s Gaslamp District. Scott realized that he needed to be the best in order to compete in the highly competitive restaurant business so he needed to ask for help in building his menu.

He asked the chef and owner of the Red Fish Blue Fish eatery to work with him on designing the menu. He also asked his friend Chef Ivoreno Brigitha from Costa Rico to lend a hand in putting the finishing touches on the menu and what resulted is a unique blend of tastes that is surpassed by no other restaurant. That explains the 5 star ratings on the various directories.

Many of his patrons have asked Scott to do something special for lunch for those who work in the downtown area so he put together his lunch special menu. In addition, he has formed his VIP club which anyone can join by texting escape to 72727. Those who join receive a free appetizer. Of course normal messaging costs apply, but you can stop messages by replying Stop when you receive your text. Scott will only text VIP members with specials once a week.

When you’re in the mood for great San Diego seafood, you should try Escape Fish Bar for lunch or dinner. Once you do, you’ll be anxious to come back over and over again. For more information visit http://www.escapefishbar.com
