SheHeroes Releases New Video Interview With Susie Tompkins Buell

This time SheHeroes at down with Susie Tompkins Buell, the founder and co-owner of the Esprit clothing company, (http://sheheroes.org/2012/05/sheheroes-episode-10-susie-tompkins-buell/), which was known for its revolutionary fusion of corporate mission with social responsibility.

Buell created The Esprit Foundation was in 1990. The foundation supported a variety of organizations in areas such as at-risk youth, AIDS awareness and direct care, women’s issues and the environment. Buell left Esprit de Corp in 1996, taking the Foundation with her. She eventually renamed it the Susie Tompkins Buell Foundation. Sixteen years later the foundation has retained its original mission in areas of funding, including a “women and girls lens”, which screened organizations for their inclusion of women and girls, not only as recipient of services but also for their representation on boards and staff.
