Asking prices at a 12-month high in the South East

May 23, 2012 - PRLog -- In March 2012, the South East of England experienced the highest asking prices for properties seen in 12 months with buyers paying over £13,000 more compared to March 2011, according to the latest statistics from Move with Us, the residential property expert.
The data also found that the number of new listings of property to the market have remained relatively steady over the last year and are only slightly lower than this time last year.  This would indicate that price rises are a result of increased buyer activity in the region.
Average days required to sell a residential property have remained stable in the South East over the last 12 months and it continues to outperform the rest of the UK market, taking on average 30 days less than the national average of 150.
Robin King, director at Move with Us said: “The South East is one area of the UK that’s showing real positive signs that the second quarter may bring quantifiable improvements in the housing market. On average buyers are paying over £13,000 more this year for properties in the area. The inability for buyers to negotiate larger discounts on property right now shows us that the demand for good quality property in the area is meeting the supply.
