Recent nominations for Sports Channel for Women’s list of the Top 100 Female Athletes of 2012 include Gymnast Nastia Liukin of the United States, Surfer Stephanie Gilmore of Australia, Swimmer Natalie Anne Coughlin of the United States, Basketball player Brittney Griner of the United States, and Biathlete Vita Semerenko of the Ukraine. On September 15, 2012 the countdown of the best female athletes selected by a blue-ribbon panel from those nominated will be revealed online, in social networking sites and in traditional media. Darryl Mobley, CEO and co-founder of Sports Channel for Women said, “The recent nominations have spanned several different sports and more than twenty countries. Sports Channel for Women’s mission is to gain exposure for top female athletes from around the world. Who are the best basketball, soccer, netball, lacrosse, rugby, volleyball, handball, ice hockey, cricket, hockey, softball, water polo, squash, table tennis, roller derby, badminton, and field hockey players?
