EDP Europe Launches RackSEAL Air Barrier

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- EDP Europe, a leading supplier of solutions for combating data centre cooling issues, is pleased to announce the launch of its RackSEAL air barrier.  RackSEAL air barrier provides the solution to preventing hot exhaust air recirculating to the front of IT equipment racks through the gap between the mounting rails and the side of the rack, underneath the rack, or between adjoining racks. These areas have, until now, been difficult to seal.  By preventing hot exhaust air recirculating to the front of racks significant improvements in cooling can be made.  

RackSEAL air barrier is a compressed foam tape, available in two expansion sizes, which expands to fill a range of gap sizes up to 125mm in both 600mm and 800mm wide racks. The slow expansion allows RackSEAL to be installed without disturbing cables, while the self adhesive acrylic scrim makes the installation process quick and easy.  Lawrence Clark, Product Manager for EDP Europe said “few people realise that on some 600mm wide racks the gap between the rails and the side of the rack can be the equivalent of 4U of space, and 23U on some 800mm wide racks.  Sealing these gaps is a must if you want to make cooling improvements”.
