June 4, 2012 - PRLog -- The main goal of the campaign is to promote the importance of regular medical check-ups for Latina women, a group with one of the highest risks of cancer mortality, and to increase the community's awareness of Nueva Vida's mission to ensure timely access to life-saving treatments for all Latinas. To support this campaign, Pollo Campero is hosting a Nueva Vida Day every Monday in the month of June from 3 pm until closing, and is donating 10% of those sales to Nueva Vida.

Last year, this successful campaign brought the organization $5,700, which helped more Latinas receive preventive services and mental health support. Each year, Nueva Vida serves more than 700 new clients and with Pollo Campero's and the community's support it hope to serve many more in 2012.

"Pollo Campero is excited to be able to help out Nueva Vida for a second year in a row. After last year's successful campaign we knew that the Hispanic community would come together again to support the fight against cancer within its community", stated Jose R. Barahona, owner of Pollo Campero in the Washington, D.C. area, and known supporter of the Hispanic community.

Nueva Vida's Executive Director, Larisa Caicedo, added, "One of our main goals is to create awareness campaigns that will empower Latina women to make informed decisions and create a positive impact in their lives. We want to ensure that any Latina in the DC Metropolitan Area who is going through a cancer diagnosis knows in advance that we exist and that we can offer a familiar hand to help them through their journey." She added that "to achieve this goal, alliances with renowned established business such as Pollo Campero, who understand and care about the needs of the Hispanic community, are critical to help the organization spread the word about its mission. We are proud and honored to count on Pollo Campero's support for a second year. We hope to keep building a stronger relationship with this honorable company and we thank them on behalf of the entire organization and our clients for their continuous support."
