Young- Slim is set to release his third CD titled “Trap Money 2 Rap Money”.

June 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Young-Slim,( aka Gregory A. Spears Jr.) was born on July 3, 1987 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.   Music flowed in his blood even at a very early age.   He had respect for money.  He knew how to earn it and hold on to it.  He would eventually become known as a paper chaser.

He began writing lyrics in 2006 at the age of 19 when he received an indie deal with Northside Networking Records founded by CEO Tic-Toc.  In 2007 he released his first mixtape titled "Wut They Talking Bout." On this mixtape were hits such as "Behind the Silhouette" and "No Grind No Shine."  In 2008 his long awaited debut CD release hit the music industry titled "Making Bigger Moves".  In December 2010 he received sponsorship from Stunna Liqueur asking him to be the face of the brand.  This opportunity exposed him to other new opportunities.  In 2011 Young-Slim made appearances at different clubs and events which expanded his reach to difference audiences.  Sometimes he would put in his own money to get extra exposure.  This seems to work well for him.  He was grooming his audience with radio play, shows, blogs and other media sites in early 2012.  This brought his views from 7,000 in December 2011 to 22,000 in April 2012.  Releasing new mixtapes, one of them being a Trapaholics Mixtape rocked their single “Young Slim In Da Hood” to the top of the charts.    

After strategic planning and being a successful marketer, Young-Slim finally took the step to set a release date for “Trap Money 2 Rap Money” to be in July 2012.  With the successes of his first two projects, he was primed and ready with all the promos planned and executed to release his third and eagerly anticipated EP.   Now, we prepare ourselves for this colossal release which is expected to be Young-Slim’s biggest release to date.   One particular single is pre-released to set the tone for what is to come.

“Getting 2 Da Money” was chosen to set the stage for this upcoming CD.  This single is about how Young- Slim was feeling at that point in his life.  The theme of this single is living the high life with everything a man could ever want right by his side.  This single examines a particular style of rap music which is a southern/east coast sound.  It has a great rap rhythm, with a great beat.    The melody and the tempo drive the lyrics and together it becomes a dynamic single.  Expect more of the same when this EP is finally released.

•   Young- Slim won first place at two different industry alternative showcases in New Jersey.
•    He performed at a big festival with Dem Franchize Boys, La Da Boomman, Roscoe Dash.
•   He performed at Ben Hills Day of the summer of 2010 in Georgia.
•   He performed on a yacht in New York City sponsored by Conjur Liquor in August 2010.
•   He was nominated for 11 various awards in 2011 and won 3 of them, Internet Hustler of the Year, Artist of the Year and Honorary Award.  
•   He also received 2nd place in a tournament.
•   He’s opened for artists such as Red Café, Hel Rell, Jr. Writer,Maino, Mr. Cheeks, Papoose, Jae Millz, Gucci Mane, Travis Porter and others between 2010 and present time.
