Mission Uplift for Victims of Domestic Violence

Leading Ladies will be hosting an Open Mic Dedicated to victims of domestic violence at Caribbean Soul on July 17th at 7pm. The fundraiser seeks to bring awareness to issues surrounding domestic violence, through the voices of survivors and artists.

July 6, 2012 - PRLog -- MISSION UPLIFT targets women who have been victims of domestic violence.  Its mission is to inspire these women to recognize their true inner beauty.  By embracing love, life and self, these women will be poised to realize that their abuse was wholly undeserved.  Therefore, they’ll be better equipped to recognize warning signs and thus be prepared to avoid similar situations in the future, as well as reducing the likelihood that they will return to their previous abusers.  Leading Ladies endeavors to collect sufficient financial contributions and necessary supplies in the form of toiletries, to distribute to a NYC women’s shelter that houses approximately 26 families.  All product donations are welcome, such as utensils, shampoos,   grooming products and clothing.

Leading Ladies is an organization that provides essentials to those in need.  It was formed by a collaboration of Jay Blessed Media a Caribbean News organization, HOTMYLK, a support network for mothers and kids,  Louve Potions, a bartending event contracting company, and Belza Dentro, a team of Cosmetologists.

Caribbean Soul Restaurant (Soulé) is conveniently located in the Clinton Hill area of Brooklyn, accessible by the Clinton-Washington A and G trains.  Any artist who wants to participate in the open mic, can register  by contacting leadingladies17@gmail.com.
