Follow on Google News | Spend A Week in the Sequoias at Conejo Valley YMCA Camp, Info Night: July 20The Conejo Valley YMCA is hosting a weeklong camp at Sequoia Lake for kids entering grades fourth through 12. An information night for will be held Friday July 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Conejo Valley Y. Camp dates are August 4 through 11.
By: Conejo Valley YMCA The camp is located on over 900 acres and is surrounded by Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park. It first opened in 1914 and has been hosting YMCA camps ever since. "This is where our Conejo YMCA originally started its resident camp and it’s exciting to come back home," says Meghan Lopez, Conejo Y program director. Campers experience a high rope course, mountain biking, rock climbing, archery, swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, campfires, adventure courses and canoeing. "Camp is more than spending a week in a gorgeous location; it is about creating lifelong friendships, challenging yourself and taking the time to really work on who you want to be as a person," explains Lopez. "We include the Y's 'Rag & Leather' motivational and rewards program to give campers a sense of responsibility and accomplishment. Resident camp is an experience that is indescribable until you have lived it. There is not a better place in the world I can think of doing all this then at Camp Lake Sequoia.” The cost is $499 per camper and includes all travel, food, lodging and camp activities.
