Follow on Google News | What do Patriotism, Orlando and Mud Have in Common? The American Mud Race kicks off the first Orlando event and this one-of-a-kind will serve as a fund-raiser for a special Habitat for Humanity project that benefits wounded American war veterans.
By: American Mud Race The American Mud Race is the dirty grimy, muddy obstacle race you’ve heard so much about and Wednesday kicks off the Orlando version. The American Mud Racers will be getting insanely muddy with thousands of other people and best of all there is a greater cause at play. The American Mud Race has pledged a portion of the proceeds of the Orlando American Mud Race to Home at Last, a special project of the West Orange Habitat for Humanity. The 2012 project will benefit U.S. Army Corporal Jeremy Voels, who was critically injured by a sniper shot while deployed in Afghanistan. Thanks to Home at Last and Habitat for Humanity, Cpl. Voels and his wife Ashley will have a beautiful new home in which to raise their young son, Kaydon and daughter, Charleigh. The official American Mud Race launch party is slated for Wednesday July 11th from 6-8 p.m. at Terrace 390 in the Bank of American building in downtown Orlando. FREE giveaways and special promotions will be taking place at the event. A registration table will be provided where participants can sign up at the event and receive a onetime $10 discount. Drink and food specials will be provided the day of the party as well. For more information contact: Tyler Bloechinger at tyler@americanmudrace.com End
