By: Mitch A Haynes Events like these are for writers and authors who want to pitch their work to agents of publishers around the country, but also to rub elbows locally – to find readers who enjoy the same genre, editors who can assist with manuscripts, and to meet people who may just offer encouragement in the field. The first of its kind in Denton, there’s now a conference in July that’s catering to those who want to meet other writers, agents and editors, hear speakers and access vendors that are ready to impart knowledge and connections, all without the $500+ price tag of attendance. Attendance is $75 until July 19 then it will be $95 at the door. Writer’s group and educational promotion: Pay for two attendees and get the third free. The Lexicon is held at the Hilton Garden Inn at 3110 Colorado Blvd.), Texas, approximately 30 miles north of Dallas/Fort Worth and the D/FW International Airport. Events include networking dinner Friday night at 6p, all-day speakers Saturday, conference breakfast Sunday, and vendors. Books will be for sale, and book signings are available.
