Follow on Google News | Anti-weight-gain pill in fight with the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA)Anti-weight-gain product, UNDOIT, is in a fight with the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) over the ingredients in the product, although they have been scientifically tested and proven to work.
The TGA and Dr Ken Harvey have decided that Undoit isn’t suitable for the Australian public- although the clinical evidence supplied by Undoit, is overwhelming in not only the safeness but also the effectiveness of the key ingredients. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 61% of Australian adults are overweight and the Monash University believes that obesity has overtaken smoking as the leading cause of premature death and illness in Australia. Undoit was invented to help these people. Undoit was created to support everyday people who struggle each day with their willpower at snack time. Instead of giving up your diet, Undoit allows people to undo a snack and get straight back onto their diet without getting derailed. Undoit works by binding the fat and carbs from products such as hamburgers, cakes and chocolates; traditional ‘want foods’ people try and avoid when on a diet and stops these foods being absorbed, after they have been eaten. “There is an abundance of clinical papers demonstrating the effectiveness of the fat absorber and carb blocker and there is no clinical doubt that these active ingredients work. The TGA and CRP has decided that the evidence is insufficient, but has not given one piece of evidence or rationale for this allegation. “We submitted to the CRP 1,678 patients studied over 16 published, randomised, placebo controlled studies. That is solid clinical and scientific evidence which has not been challenged”, said Michael Romm, Marketing Director, Undoit. In the view of Undoit, the CRP’s determination of the Undoit complaint is invalid because the CRP did not follow proper due process. They have not submitted an objective review of the clinical and scientific evidence submitted, including detailed reasoning of the basis on which they made their decision. Romm believes “they can’t provide any evidence to me, because there simply is no evidence that the product is unsafe or doesn’t work. Science says it does work”. Dr Ken Harvey has led the fight against Undoit, again without any real evidence of its failure. “If he truly has a professional opinion about our product, then let him come and justify his statements and provide support and evidence. We are sure he will want to prove that he has at least a modicum of scientific credibility and is more than a mere mud-slinger” In real life, nobody behaves perfectly. It’s simply too busy and stressful. Exclusively promoting an ideal of only ‘healthy energy-¬controlled diet and physical activity’ is actually NOT an appropriate balance because it ignores the reality of the situation. Ignoring the ‘diet cheating’ is only ignoring the major reason why people yoyo. “We’re only trying to help Australian people lose weight and with all the scientific data behind Undoit, it’s already proven that it can work. I don’t know why the TGA are trying to block our way to help people fight their weight problems”, Romm concluded.
