July 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Plextor have announced the newest series of Solid State Drives (M5S) which have been designed to provide an easy, effortless solution for users looking to make their first switch from HDD to SDD.

Building on the trend set by its award-winning predecessors, the M5S SSD is faster with enhanced performance. Utilising the proven server-grade Marvell 88SS9174 controller and paired with 25nm NAND flash, it boasts sustained random read/write speeds of up to 73,000/70,000 IOPS as well as continuous read/write speeds of up to 520/390 MB/s.

Available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, the M5S offers plenty of robust storage space for important files and media. What’s more, with a low power-consumption and high transmission rate, the M5S perfectly suits user goals to upgrade existing system performance whilst satisfying the demand for durability, data security, and stability.

The M5S is bundled with exclusive Plextor firmware technology including True Speed technology, Instant Restore, Global Wear Leveling, and Bad Block Management. This winning combination strengthens the efficiency of data transfer whilst helping to stabilise and improve the sustainability, so that users can rest assured that their drive will maintain the same, consistent high performance and speed, even after years of usage.

Plextor customers can extend the functionality of the M5S by registering for VIP membership via the Plextor website. Once registered they can download the exclusive PlexTools software, which offers a range of services including monitoring drive status and upgrading firmware.
