July 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Sophia has always meant intelligence. This design is of a genius mind and truly deserves the name. Sophia is made of opal glass and capable of height adjustment.  A clip makes this possible as it adapts the length of the wire to the lighting needs of the moment: shorter to achieve a direct beam of light and longer for a soft atmosphere.

The matrix combines them to a support which joins them in pairs or threes. The opal glass gives a characteristic light. Clear, simple and clean, it creates an intimate atmosphere which radiates a friendly light. It is equally useful for domestic or big spaces.

Joan Gaspar studied industrial design in the school of Artes y Oficios in Barcelona. In 1988 he started work for VAPOR S, a manufacturing minimalist lamps.  From 1992, he collaborated with a variety of firms to create new product lines:  Roca, Resol, Marset, Mobles 114, Perobell, Santa&Cole, DAE, Vilagrasa, Made Design.

Marset’s lamps are contemporary. Through the application of technical precision and creativity, Marset constantly aim to discover new functions to provide other uses for long lasting lamps. This constant quest for new directions, combined with curiosity and ability to envisage the shape of things to come, has led to the pieces in the collection.
