New Delhi, Date-9th August,2012: Inter-School Olympics the mega inter-school scholastic competition that endeavours to encourage leadership and teamwork among children has created a major buzz in schools and educational institutions across India and the neighbouring countries. With leading schools like Lotus Valley, Gurgaon, Lord Mahavir Noida, Schiller Ghaziabad, MVN Faridabad, BVB Vidyashram Jaipur, Resonance Kota, St. John’s Chandigarh and others having already participated and many more doing so in the days ahead this competition has become quite a talking point in education circles.

The competition comprises a school level academic test in six subjects followed by city and national finals which are completely activity based and involve problem solving, creativity in science, extempore speaking, debates, group discussions, games, computer application etc. This is a lot of fun and encourages children to apply academic knowledge in real life situations as well as develop qualities of teamwork and leadership.”

The children stand to gain not just fame and acclaim, but win incredible prizes as well. The top prize is a trip to Disneyland (Hong Kong) for 10 children selected nationally and laptops, Tablets and MP3 players in every participating Indian city. In each school, children win cash prizes, medals and trophies. Schools with best overall scores get 'Best School Awards' and trophies as well.

The heartening thing about this competition is that the response is equally good in Delhi and upcountry centres like Agra, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gwalior and Jaipur which can only augur well for not just the children and their schools, but for the new generations of Indian leaders.
