Ingrain awarded major contract to characterize Colombian repository core

Colombia’s National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) selects Houston-based Ingrain for large-scale characterization study

Aug. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Houston (August 14, 2012) – Houston-based digital rock physics lab Ingrain has been awarded a major contract by the Colombian government’s National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) to digitize and characterize the high-volume of core they have in storage. Ingrain’s technology will provide the ANH with critical knowledge of the sedimentary basins of Colombia in order to better assess the hydrocarbon potential.

Utilizing their latest-generation technologies, expertise in reservoir rock analysis, and state-of-the-art equipment from Carl Zeiss, Ingrain will characterize thousands of meters of whole core currently being stored at ANH’s National Core Repository (Litoteca Nacional de Colombia). This project will also create a digital database that will make the data readily accessible and preserve important information of the core for future use.

"Ingrain is honored to have been selected to perform this project," stated Ingrain’s Chief Executive Officer, Marcus Ganz.  “This award confirms the growing acceptance of our technology and further demonstrates the unique value that we provide to oil and gas companies worldwide.”

The ANH is the Colombian government’s institution responsible for the promotion and development of the country’s hydrocarbon resources through an integrated management approach that harmonizes the interests of the society, country, and the companies of the sector.

Headquartered in Houston, TX, Ingrain has digital rock physics labs in Houston, Brazil, Colombia and Abu Dhabi.

About Ingrain
Ingrain was formed in 2007 to bring petrophysical innovations pioneered at Stanford University to the oil and gas industry. Ingrain's digital technology provides oil and gas companies with comprehensive and accurate measurements of reservoir rock properties including porosity, absolute permeability, electrical conductivity, elastic properties, capillary pressures and relative permeability.  For more information, please visit www.ingrainrocks.com.
