If you do not have at least basic experience with any design software, it is suggested you take the 3 hour “crash course” (for an additional $50) that I offer prior to the 9 hour workshop. This additional 3 hour course will be scheduled a week before the full 9 hour course. Exact day and time to be determined with students who need this crash course. Please get in touch if you need this additional course to coordinate the additional payment of $50 as well as date/time. Note this class will be taught using Adobe Illustrator CS6 WHY LEARN ILLUSTRATOR? Did you know that most fashion design job postings require applicants to be proficient in Adobe Illustrator? Below are a just some of the topics we will cover: • Master technical drawing • Create seamless repeating patterns • Easily emulate ribbing, ruffles & ruching • Quickly create stripes & plaids • Prep artwork & sketches for factories • Make lots of colorways, fast! • Add stitching details, zippers and more - the right way! • Convert hand sketches to vector illustrations • Layout a line sheet • Tips, tricks & shortcuts WHY LEARN WITH ME? With close to a decade of experience using Illustrator, much of this time concentrated in the fashion design realm, I not only know the program inside and out but know the tips and tricks of how to make it work for fashion design. You are getting taught by an industry professional, not by someone who just “knows” how to use Illustrator. Learn exactly what you need to know to work in the fashion world! Each class has a maximum occupancy of eight students to ensure you get the most one-on-one instruction possible. Included in the course is a detailed workbook of everything you learned and a 2GB jump drive (a must for anyone in the design industry) full of sketch libraries, pattern brushes and seamless repeating patterns. You will also benefit from phone/email support for 3 months after the class in case you hit any bumps in the road while you refine your skills. WHAT FOLKS ARE SAYING “Thanks for the video tutorial. I like it in particular because it doesn’t take short-cuts and is precise. I am a life-long sketcher and, even though I am moderately familiar with Illustrator and enjoy digital brushwork, I just haven’t been able to marry my sketches with the digital format. This may help.” -Fray4all via YouTube “Great Instructor who teaches you exactly what you want and need to know. I would definitely recommend. Thanks again Heidi!” -Roddrelle, Louisiana “Heidi’s expertise in Illustrator is admirable, and she is great at teaching you how to use various tools and make the program do what you need.” -Anne, Colorado “Thank you so much Heidi you’re the best teacher I’ve ever seen! Good job!” -Lavene, California End
