The Director of Events, Dr. Kune Igoni disclosed that, after the successful hosting of the first edition, the U & D Expo have continued to receive commendations from oil and gas companies, high government personnel and diplomatic missions, and is now endorsed by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), South Korean Consulate, Nigeria, Royal Dutch Embassy, Nigeria and other major indutry Players and Stakeholders, with keen interest shown by world business and political leaders to participate as Special Resource Persons. He cited Nigeria’s crude oil production of over 2.7 million barrels per day, oil discoveries off the coast of Ghana and the hope of increase in production in the West Africa region in 2012, as being responsible for the success of the event; stating that, top nations across the world have increased desires and quest for petroleum products in the region thereby, enforcing a powerful, active and increasingly up-to-date upstream and downstream petroleum market. With the display of modern technology and equipments of this dynamic petroleum and gas industry, it is observed that, this trade show will serve as the window for further developments and growth of the market in the region, making U & D Expo the ideal place for concluding contracts, equipment delivery, as well as, expansion of company’s potentials, Dr. Igoni iterated.
