Award Winning Local Artist, Michael Feldman, Featured by SF Cup Art Commemorating America’s Cup

Aug. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- SF Cup Art, has partnered with San Anselmo artist Michael Feldman for a commemorative series of paintings celebrating the America’s Cup races that start today in San Francisco. The company commissioned a series of four paintings by Feldman who has been painting classic San Francisco scenes for over twenty years and has a body of work of hundreds of paintings.  Feldman is well known in the San Francisco Bay area and is the owner of a gallery featuring his work in downtown historic San Anselmo, in Marin County, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.

America’s Cup has descended on the city of San Francisco and the four paintings commissioned include: Defender, Sausalito, Golden Gate and San Francisco.  Each painting captures the essence of the amazing AC45 and AC72 sail boats being raced on the bay while emphasizing some of San Francisco’s most iconic views.

“I’m thrilled that my work is able to commemorate one of the oldest and most prestigious sporting events in the world”, said Feldman. “I’m a plein air painter and love to bring the bay alive with the action around the America’s Cup.”  

America’s Cup will bring hundreds of thousands of spectators into the city over the next year.  “Michael’s work is an inspiration for all who see the races”, said Sherri Morris, Media Relations Director of SF Cup Art.  “We chose his work because his paintings bring a strong sense of movement and modernist characteristics that people appreciate.”  The work will be offered in three sizes as well as framed or unframed.  Each signed and numbered, limited edition giclee print on canvas is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.  Retail prices for prints start at under $100.
