A New Kind of Radio Station Debuts on LIVE365.COM

Aug. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- All of that has changed.  Now there is a place to hear a true mix of all kinds of music. "The 3M Show-Mike's Musical Memories " can now be heard (not only on the internet but also on smartphones , ipads, etc.) by anyone who downloads the app for live365.com. or tunes into that website.  The station is available 24/7.
The host of the show, Mike DeVita, says he enjoys sharing his music and his eclectic tastes. It is the only way to truly classify it.  He plays songs from as far back as the 30's and slides through the years to include the best of today's music.  Everything from adult contemporary music, to the Big Band Era is part of the mix, as well as rock and roll, Broadway, hit parade songs through the years, classic vocalists, pop standards and a mix of old and new country as well. In fact, the only kind of music you won't hear is rap. Light jazz and even some classical music is also part of the programming.  As one listener said: "If I don't like what is playing in one ten or fifteen minute segment, I just wait, and it changes." Mike even offers his listeners a chance to request their favorites, and will even dedicate songs to them.
Mike DeVita is known for a few other things as well.  He just published a new book about his all time favorite entertainer, Doris Day.  The book is called "My 'Secret Love' Affair with Doris Day" and it is available many places online, especially at amazon.com. The reviews have been consistently good.  Those who purchase the book will also be contributing to the Doris Day Animal Foundation, which helps animals around the world, because Mike has pledged the majority of the profits to that cause.
Mike is also serving as a webmaster for an internet site that is growing in popularity. It can be found at www.sampod4u.com.  The site is devoted to the best of Entertainment in the 20th Century.  It focuses on music and movies with a wide variety of topics, including both a forum and a blog.
Some folks may recall that Mike also hosted an internet radio program in 2010. At the time there was also a very highly popular program which celebrated Doris Day's Birthday, and many celebrites called in to wish her a Happy Birthday.  This celebration still takes place on sampod4u.com every April.
Mike happily shares his music collection with those who check in to listen on live365.  His record collection goes back to the 30's with heavy emphasis on the 40's and 50's.  And while he wishes he could feature more Doris recordings, he plays as many as are allowed by copyright rules.  He says: "my goal is to play a lot of the music that people can't hear on the radio anymore.  There are too many artists and songs that are not heard anymore, and they deserve to be heard.  Especially those who have been totally forgotten."  And so, Mike's show helps to rectify that problem.  Here are a few names that may jog your memory: Joni James, Johnny Mercer, The Gaylords, Johnny Ray, The Larry Clinton Orchestra, The Fifth Dimension, The Ten Tenors, Harry James and hundreds more...just a few of the artists being resurrected on this new station.
