Trico Homes: First Canadian Residential Home Builder to Be Certified ‘B Corporation’

Aug. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Trico Homes is proud to announce their status as the first residential homebuilder in Canada to achieve B Corporation status.  B Corporation status is a highly distinguished honor that is awarded only to companies that show tangible efforts and results in maintaining transparency, accountability, and promoting social and environmental interests.

For the management at Trico Homes, B Corp status is something that has been desired for a long time.  However, it wasn’t until July 23, 2012 that B Corporation status was finally attained.  Trico Homes Calgary is thrilled to have B Corporation status, especially considering the fact that there are only 530 certified B Corporations in the world.  The achievement is especially noteworthy considering that Trico Homes is the first certified B Corporation Canadian homebuilder.

For Trico Homes Calgary, B Corporation status didn’t require altering the core identity of the company.  The company believes that the guiding principles behind Trico Homes were already in line with the qualifications for meeting B Corporation status.  Joining Trico Homes with the non-profit organization B Corporation was a natural union. Trico Homes believes for a company to have a future it must be a leader in responsible corporate behavior.
