‘Tis time for every privateer and bucaneer to square their yards and polish their brightwork for the highlight of the piratical social calendar, for the Swashbuckler’s Ball returns!  PDX Yar!, Portland’s premiere pirate entertainment group and The Dread Ship Outrageous Fortune are proud to present this third annual fundraiser, where you can kick up your noggin’ boots and party like it’s 1699.  The much loved “evening out for pirates” features fine foods, drinks, music, copious amounts of dancing, and a raffle all in support of a good cause.  This year, the Swashbuckler’s Ball is a benefit for DoveLewis, whose association with the regional veterinary community provides 24-hour emergency, critical care, education, and community outreach.

The evening’s festivities this year will include the Celtic rock group Tempest and local favorite party band Chervona, with more acts to be announced. Downstairs, the incredibly popular Belowdecks Bar returns and will serve as a showcase for the sultry performers of Critical Hit Burlesque.  The Belowdecks Bar will host a new feature this year, food!  Included in the price of every ticket is access to the Belowdecks Buffet.

Returning event sponsor Jupiter Hotel is offering special room rates to accommodate out-of-town scallywags. Located a mere 10 minute walk from the Melody Ballroom (NOTE: walking times may vary with the amount of rum consumed), it makes for a perfect alternative to getting behind the wheel of your sloop and returning to your home port.
