Joel Vargas has been appointed Assistant Director for InterPort Police

Sept. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- SCHAUMBURG, IL–Contingent Security Services, Ltd. is pleased to announce President & Director of Operations Joel Vargas has been appointed as Assistant Director of InterPort Police Global Force. The appointment comes as the United States remembers the tragic events of 9/11, which changed how law enforcement and intelligence agencies interact inside the United States and abroad.  

Director Vargas spent the last 20 years in senior management positions in the private sector. While consulting private clients and government officials regarding threats, organized crime, transnational crime, and special insurable risks such as kidnapping & ransom, extortion, political risks, terrorism, and maritime insurance in the Americas. Director Vargas became aware that law enforcement, intelligence, and the supply chain need more coordination globally to combat transnational crime and extensive research was launched by Contingent Security Services, Ltd. to address the problem.

In a business of secrecy and confidentiality where millions of dollars are put on the line that the client will not be a victim, it is not surprising that Director Vargas would take the position. InterPort Police is a global organization with hundreds of jurisdictions all over the world. Director Vargas brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience in the private sector in senior management positions, strong background in intelligence, and a strong educational background, which include a Law Degree and currently a Masters Degree in Intelligence Studies.

The last four years thanks to the assistance of Chief Frank Kosman, Director Vargas worked in the Bensenville Police Department, just outside Chicago O’Hare International Airport, where Director Vargas learned how local police departments work. While in the Bensenville Police, extensive research was conducted networks and models to reduce crime. Director Vargas coordinated the ORD Airport Watch Program with the senior security and law enforcement officials at O’Hare Airport, with included the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Department of Aviation, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the FBI.  

Director Vargas added, “Our current partnership with Beraca Insurance Group in the USA, one of the top insurance brokers in the world with the specialty insurance we sell, will bring value to our members at InterPort Police and existing clients.” Director Vargas stated that the company will be transferring the security consulting, municipal services, training and intelligence programs and systems to InterPort Police, systems that have been developed for the last two decades.    

The challenges the supply chain, law enforcement, and security forces face today require different disciplines in order to prevent and fight crime. Director Vargas is committed to bringing new Criminal Intelligence Sharing Systems, Intelligence regarding Terrorism, Training and Development Programs, Technology Programs to improve law enforcement, security and intelligence operations. Director Vargas has been working closely in the last few months with Secretary General Jay Grant discussing different programs and the expansion into an operational agency that serves in every country around the world.
