By: John Frank Nick Heeg always knew that education was and would be important. His parents had always instilled upon Nick Heeg as a young man the importance of working hard and being independent. And while he knew that education would be important, he also continued to work throughout his years of schooling starting when he was 16. Nick Heeg has never been afraid to learn or develop new skills. He found that education was important for growing the skills necessary for his jobs. At one point, Nick Heeg worked as a lifeguard for the YMCA in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was then Nick Heeg’s duty to become educated and certified in several life saving methods including CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED). He also learned and became certified for administering emergency oxygen and administering first aid. However, Nick Heeg knew that a formal university education would be crucial for success in the working world as an adult. Nick Heeg after graduating from Charlotte Catholic High School attended the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business from 2008-2010. He then finished his last two years of university at University of North Carolina’s Belk College of Business in Charlotte where he studied Economics. It was in 2012, that Nick Heeg finished his studies at the University of North Carolina. Even while he graduated and finished his degree, Nick Heeg had already been employed at Northwestern Mutual where he works now as a Financial Representative helping people with their financial goals. It is Nick Heeg’s hope and ambition to grow within the Northwestern Mutual Company now that he has completed his education.
