Bolesworth Propose More Homes For Tattenhall Cheshire

Sept. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- An outline planning application for development at Smithfields, Tattenhall, Cheshire has been submitted by Bolesworth Estate. The application for a total of 75 houses is Bolesworth Estate’s response to the recent flurry of planning applications in the village.

Matthew Morris, Estate Manager at Bolesworth Estate explains the reasons for the application: “Tattenhall village has seen an unprecedented number of planning applications for large numbers of houses by various developers. In fact there are now over 500 homes proposed for Tattenhall which itself only consists of some 900 dwellings."

"We feel that the cumulative impact of all these proposals is significant and is a matter that must be dealt with robustly by Cheshire West and Chester Council or the Planning Inspectorate. Bolesworth Estate has taken part in the neighbourhood planning process and share the frustration felt by the community who feel that they are under siege.”

"Bolesworth Estate are proposing to do something quite differently and to deliver the 75 homes at a rate and in a mix of house types decided upon by their local community in conjunction with the Parish Council."

Matthew Morris explains further that: “ this is truly innovative in planning terms and we hope that we can demonstrate that by working with the community we can enable Tattenhall to grow gradually and at a rate and pace that enables all our local facilities to adapt to growth. Bolesworth Estate have been part of the Tattenhall community for 156 years and our proposals for Smithfields Phase 4 demonstrate our commitment to the village and our wish to see something salvaged out of the neighbourhood plan process”

The application will now go out to consultation and there will be a number of public meetings held in the village both by the Estate and by the Parish Council.
