By: Service Foods The winners of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Best Places to Work awards were announced during a ceremony held on September 14 at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. In addition to the awards ceremony, the event included breakfast and a keynote address by Hank Huckaby, chancellor of the University System of Georgia. The Best Places to Work awards are issued annually by Atlanta Business Chronicle and Quantum Workplace. Nearly 700 companies were nominated for this year’s highly coveted awards, the results of which were based on surveys filled out by employees at their respective organizations. More than 27,000 of these surveys were completed, and analytical tools were used to rank the top 100 businesses in Large Employer, Medium-Sized Employer and Small Employer categories. Criteria for being selected included level of employee engagement, benefits packages offered to employees, work environment, corporate culture, empowering employees to reach their personal and company goals, and ensuring employees know and feel they are a top company priority. Service Foods (http://www.ServiceFoods.com) was recognized as the ninth Best Place to Work in the Small Employer category, which honors organizations with 10 to 100 employees. The company places a strong emphasis on helping clients and employees live healthier lifestyles. Employees have free access to health assessments from the company’s registered dietitian, as well as individualized fitness and diet plans from Service Foods’ certified fitness experts and trained chefs. Additionally, the company’s fully aged, all-natural Black Angus beef; super-select pork; Grade-A, free-range poultry; sashimi-grade seafood; and Grade-A natural and organic fancy vegetables are provided to employees at cost. “We’ve made an effort to build a great team environment, so being named as one of Atlanta’s Best Places to Work for the third time confirms our commitment to our employees,” said Service Foods CEO Dr. Keith Kantor. “I want our employees to know how much I appreciate their dedication, and this award is really a reflection of everything they do on a daily basis.
